Explore Tarbert and the Local Area

 

While staying with us at the Starfish Room Accommodation Tarbert why not explore this scenic and historical area. There is plenty to do and see. In particular you may want to visit during one of the many Tarbert Festivals.

Day trips to some of the islands or the Cowal Peninsula by bike, car or as a foot passenger is a good way to explore. The ferry from Tarbert to Portavadie makes a great day to either visit the extensive facilities at Port Avadie Marina or simply to explore the paths and coast there. Other nearby ferries include the islands of Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura. Many do to the later two to visit the world famous distilleries there.

Tarbert castle, which is only 2 minutes walk from your Room Accommodation provides a lot of information about its amazing history as well as providing views over the port of Tarbert and of course Loch Fyne. The grounds are also the start of many local circular walks as well as being the start of the famous Kintyre Way (a 90 mile scenic walk along the length of the Kintyre Peninsula).

There is a golf course, other castles (such as Skipness castle), nature trails, Galleries (such as Starfish's own gallery) beaches, paths and trails. In short there is plenty to do and see to suit all visitor to the area.
